Merge is a premarital discipleship ministry designed for engaged and seriously dating couples. It's a chance to seek wisdom and receive counsel about marriage in a safe, fun, and authentic environment.

Merge addresses common questions and challenges from a biblical perspective. Class dynamics include: large group teaching, small group discussion with mentors, and weekly homework.

WHY SHOULD YOU START MERGE AT YOUR CHURCH?

  1. Merge premarital ministry allows for churches to play offense rather than defense. Rather than responding to or fixing problems once they arrive in marriages, Merge encourages couples to start fighting the battle for their marriage before it even begins.

  2. Merge helps staff get upstream from issues. It becomes possible to get to couples before severe hurt has occured. Sometimes the best thing Merge can do is cause couples to reassess their reasons for wanting to get married. Ended or postponed relationships do not have to be bad things. They can be key to the growth of the couples.

  3. Merge opens a side door into your church. Couples will show up at your church for premarital prep who might never walk through the front door of your church on a Sunday morning. Merge provides a unique opportunity to share the gospel with couples who don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

  4. Merge encourages churches to plant an orchard. The environment of Merge creates intergenerational relationships that can grow intentional connections. The biblically centered marriages arising in Merge will provide a solid pool of leaders from which to draw from later on.

Merge prepares couples for more than just a wedding day. It creates a safe environment where they can learn about God’s design for marriage and process next steps and grow to a new level in their relationship. Merge provides leaders with an opportunity for evangelism and discipleship. Merge is a place where leaders can use their gifts to encourage couples in their future marriages, all while strengthening their own.
